PEACH will be hosting a members’ meeting on 29th May, 6:30pm, at River Christian Church where we will hear an update on the legal challenge against Phase 1 of the Regeneration plans affecting Custom House.
Since the Phase 1 plans were approved by planners, a group of PEACH residents have been working with PILC, the Public Interest Law Centre, to challenge the Mayor of London’s acceptance of the plans.
It is the view of some residents that the Mayor’s Office failed to give adequate consideration to a number of key factors before the plans were approved and it is for this reason that they are being formally challenged.
PEACH remains concerned about the Phase 1 of the plans and whether all residents who wish to return to the area, post regeneration, will be able to access a similar size of property compared to what they have now. Whilst the Council have provided assurances on this issue, it is important that the promises which have been made are now delivered.
Come and join us at this meeting to hear how the legal challenge is progressing. Full details on the advert below.
