Mears Cats

After 4 years of organising against Mears (formerly Tando), PEACH members won 60% rent reductions for 250 temporary tenant households, all returned to council management, and a £300k rent arrears amnesty. The transfer completed in 2021.

Love Custom House Now

Launched in 2021, this campaign began with a petition demanding urgent repairs. Neighbours rallied to deliver the message. The result: £1 million in refurbishments—hundreds of homes with new kitchens, bathrooms and windows.

Members continue pushing the Council to follow through. Delays, backtracking and recurring issues persist—but PEACH members are holding them accountable.

Alternative Regeneration

In 2016, with council plans stalled, residents led a viable, values-driven masterplan. The Council responded by inviting PEACH to co-write the regeneration design brief and form a co-production steering group with elected residents.

Since then, the plan has helped shape regeneration while building community power and negotiation skills.

Regeneration: Phase 1 Ballot & Landlord Offer

In 2022, a controversial ballot approved demolition by just seven votes. Many felt misled by the Landlord Offer. PEACH held press briefings, local meetings, and follow-up demands to ensure residents are protected.

Phase 2 is now underway. Members are raising new concerns, and PEACH is mobilising to keep the council accountable.

Permanent Safe Homes NOW

In 2023, the PEACH Housing Club relaunched as a unifying space for tenants across blocks. Together, they created a bold campaign demanding:

• Safe: End mould, damp, disrepair and overcrowding—conditions that put lives at risk.
• Permanent: Secure tenancies for all. No more instability or temporary contracts.
• Now: Urgent action—not promises. Our communities can't wait any longer.
